Spitfire looks somewhat like a Swan

Thanks to Megan Cochrane for her entry in our Beauty Ruined competition. Megan writes:

"Gee this looks a lot like the Swan Chair by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen. Just a very poorly executed and badly styled copy. Shame on you Coco Republic".

We agree Megan, the Spitfire Studio Chair that appears in the online catalogue of Coco Republic looks remarkably similar to the classic Arne Jacobsen Swan Chair we found on the Fritz Hansen site:

Nice work, Megan!  Head to our competition page to find out how you can enter too!

PM in wrong shell

Another entry for our Beauty Ruined competition.  Marcus Piper noticed the curves cradling our PM Julia Gillard in a Women's Weekly shoot don't match the original design.  Indeed, photo credit read "replica egg chair matt blatt".  And Matt Blatt has even posted the offence on his site here!

Well spotted Marcus!

The sincerest form of flattery?

Here is an entry for Beauty Ruined from our friends at The Wall Sticker Company.  They collaborated with Ink & Spindle to create this gorgeous wall art only to find it 'replicated' and for sale on Etsy.  This image is courtesy of Apartment Therapy.

Real fakes

So, another entry in the Beauty Ruined competition. From Ben in Sydney. He says, 'does taking fakes and tagging them fake make them original?'. Your thoughts?

Fake iphones

First competition entry is from Ian in Sydney. He says, 'don't you love it when people take a world changing design and try to improve it'. Flip phone or square, the choice is yours, both of course with fake Apple logos.
